About Us
Long story short
Susanne Zilberfarb is president of Hammond Media, Inc., a company she established in 1994 to help nonprofit clients with communications needs. “Many of the nonprofits I worked with at the time could not afford a full-time communications or marketing person, so I found a niche being able to work on contract with some great organizations doing fulfilling work,” she says. Long story even shorter: Here’s my resume.
Having grown up on a small farm in Southern Maryland, Susanne particularly enjoys working in the agricultural industry. “I love food,” Susanne says. “And there is nothing better than knowing the people who raise it and being able to it enjoy it straight from field to fork.”
Today she is the executive director of the Delaware Soybean Board in addition to providing communications programs to the Maryland Soybean Board. Susanne also occasionally writes articles for The Delmarva Farmer newspaper, the leading agribusiness weekly in the Mid-Atlantic region, and volunteers with the Mid-Atlantic Soybean Association. In addition to her agricultural clients, Susanne works with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, where she is a Visionary donor of The Women’s Fund, and wrote (and shot – what a fattening photo shoot!) the website for The Frozen Farmer.
Susanne earned a degree in Communications with an emphasis on broadcasting from Salisbury University and is a graduate of the LEAD Maryland Fellowship program. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering as a Master Gardener, spending time with her family and taking selfies with her dog Spanky.
